3.28.11
Wow. The month is going by so fast.
1. easy dinners.
2. beautiful weather with a spring breeze
3. my body- It lets me down often when I want to do more than I am physically able, either I feel tired, weak, or sick... but I am glad it's mine. I was involved in a conversation today with women about getting "work done", mostly to fix things that have gone awry due to having children... but, I'll take mine how it is. Whatever is left after having kids, I am proud of, it's a like a battle wound of the best possible kind.
4. parks- we had a fun day at a city park
5. being able to meet Jeff for lunch. It's nice to be able to live close enough to do this!

Sunday
I missed writing down my thoughts yesterday, and I did think about them, just didn't make it to the computer, with Jeff on a campout, paino lessons, playdates and errands all taking over. I'll just do double today and call it good.
1. a clean house- I am the first to admit, I'm not as organized as I would like to be. I do however like things sanitary. There are two different types of people, those who like it to be "organized" and those who like it to be "clean" Some people are both. I am the latter, and would like to incorporate more of the first. We are doing some reorganizing and I of course have new goals to keep it that way always!!!
2. lots of storage space- In this house we have more storage than ever, in my attempt at #1, I will try to use my storage space better
3. Ava's tongue- it is long, cute and she likes to show it off!
4. nice phone calls from people-I received an unexpected phone call that was genuinely nice and I thought about it for awhile happily.
5. writing thank you notes. yes, I was brought up good and proper to write thank-you notes, I got to write a few today. It gives a nice feeling of satisfaction that only showing gratitude can.
6. fabric stores- yesterday while Jeff was on his campout and Ty was at a playdate, I took the girls to a fabric outlet down the street...ooohhhh, I love it. I love so many different prints, I could never even incorporate them into my house, but it's like a candy store for me
7. www.houzz.com- my friend told me about this, and Jeff and I had fun just perusing it last night and picking out what we loved.
8. my brother- he made an appliance for tyler's mouth yesterday, I hope it works, he is too kind.
9. this computer- I spend WAY too much time on it, but it does do good things, so I'll just leave it at that.
10. my new camera- Jeff finally decided he wanted a new dslr camera (which is funny, because I've been telling him we need one for YEARS now, but he finally played around with my Dad's and he realized how cool they are) so, I took a few shots of Ava today. It's fun. I know nothing about photography, except that the dslr takes the shots almost instantaneously, so it's much easier to get good shots of children, so I'll be having more fun with that to come.

1. it's Friday today
2. Lily gets the day off due to K-registration for next year-she is fun to have alone again every once in a while
3. I think I found a way to do my hair wavy and have it look almost semi-decent without blow drying it.
4. I lost 2 more pounds- Still about 7 away from my original goal, about 17+ away from where I probably really should be.
5. I get to look for more fabric today for Lily's headboard project... it is ever becoming much more complicated that I intended, but I want it to look nice.

4. laughing kids- we laughed our heads off last night after I made a jib-jab of our family doing the can-can for Grampy's b-day
5. projects to keep my mind busy- trying to make a headboard to make Lily's bed look like a daybed

3.23.2011
I just started this and didn't completely expain my motivations. Partly it is to remind me of the many wonderful blessing I have here, since we moved. Moving was not my first choice, after living in the same place for almsot 9 years, I had to leave many comforts, friends, and familiar things to come here. This journal is to help me be grateful for the specific things I am enjoying while we live here.
The weather around here has been amazing the past few weeks, making for a nice entrance for summer. Spring has arrived and brought with it many spectacular flowers. We have white irises and purple irises, coral azaleas, and many day lilies that have yet to show their faces. Besides this glorious temperature and beauty, I am thankful for:
1. skirts- Again, this has something to do with me not having lost all of my baby weight yet, (I don't think I can call it that if it was caused by me over-eating, but whatever.) I love to wear skirts. Especially when the weather gets warmer. I had a friend that wore skirts every day, I think I am beginning to do that. Pair them with cute flats, a fitted t-shirt and it's that easy! I know the perfect length for me- it's right below the knee, I even made one the other day and it was too cute. A perfect feminine outfit that does not say, "I'm trying to hide my muffin-top." I feel like a lady when I wear skirts, not a frumpy mom.
2. clorox wipes- really, enough said. But, because I have such horrible allergies, my doctor told me this was the best thing to clean with, it doesn't pollute the air like spray cleaners. So, I wipe like crazy.
3. my blender- lately I have been able to make baby food, and frozen yogurt smoothies in my blender. I love it.
4. Wood floors- OK. We had laminate floors before, which I actually liked a little better than this wood, they were prettier and easier to clean, but...we still had a lot of carpet in that other house. Even though it's more work, I like being able to clean the floors, without wondering what my vacumm was leaving behind. I love knowing I can clean it completely.
5. the gifted and talented program here- Let's just say it's AMAZING. Better than any I've ever heard of. Brooklyn is going to the new school today to begin the pull out program and I'm thrilled that she gets to be in it. And experience such exciting opportunities. The teacher is amazing, there are only 9 kids in the class, and the school seems wonderful.
and one more thing today
6. Post office here- I have never had to wait in the line more than 1 person at this PO. Don't know what it is, they must have enough to go around here, because it is entirely a pleasant experience to go to the PO and I'm grateful for that!
