3.23.2011

I just started this and didn't completely expain my motivations. Partly it is to remind me of the many wonderful blessing I have here, since we moved. Moving was not my first choice, after living in the same place for almsot 9 years, I had to leave many comforts, friends, and familiar things to come here. This journal is to help me be grateful for the specific things I am enjoying while we live here.

The weather around here has been amazing the past few weeks, making for a nice entrance for summer. Spring has arrived and brought with it many spectacular flowers. We have white irises and purple irises, coral azaleas, and many day lilies that have yet to show their faces. Besides this glorious temperature and beauty, I am thankful for:

1. skirts- Again, this has something to do with me not having lost all of my baby weight yet, (I don't think I can call it that if it was caused by me over-eating, but whatever.) I love to wear skirts. Especially when the weather gets warmer. I had a friend that wore skirts every day, I think I am beginning to do that. Pair them with cute flats, a fitted t-shirt and it's that easy! I know the perfect length for me- it's right below the knee, I even made one the other day and it was too cute. A perfect feminine outfit that does not say, "I'm trying to hide my muffin-top." I feel like a lady when I wear skirts, not a frumpy mom.

2. clorox wipes- really, enough said. But, because I have such horrible allergies, my doctor told me this was the best thing to clean with, it doesn't pollute the air like spray cleaners. So, I wipe like crazy.

3. my blender- lately I have been able to make baby food, and frozen yogurt smoothies in my blender. I love it.

4. Wood floors- OK. We had laminate floors before, which I actually liked a little better than this wood, they were prettier and easier to clean, but...we still had a lot of carpet in that other house. Even though it's more work, I like being able to clean the floors, without wondering what my vacumm was leaving behind. I love knowing I can clean it completely.

5. the gifted and talented program here- Let's just say it's AMAZING. Better than any I've ever heard of. Brooklyn is going to the new school today to begin the pull out program and I'm thrilled that she gets to be in it. And experience such exciting opportunities. The teacher is amazing, there are only 9 kids in the class, and the school seems wonderful.

and one more thing today

6. Post office here- I have never had to wait in the line more than 1 person at this PO. Don't know what it is, they must have enough to go around here, because it is entirely a pleasant experience to go to the PO and I'm grateful for that!
